This marks the second year of this award, created in honour of a former District 20 President and long-time Kingston educator, Les Forkes. The awards winners’ were presented with their $1000 cheques at the sites where they completed their volunteer work. Three awards were presented this year to mark the District 20’s Golden Year. | Jillian Shezza, Napanee District Secondary School, volunteered in the Convalescent Unit at the L&A County Hospital after completing the Hospice Care Provider Programme, and will continue her studies at St. Lawrence College in the Practical Nursing Program. |
| Mathilde Ducharme-Gauthier, Ecole Secondaire Mille-Iles, volunteered at Providence Care Hospital and will further her education in the Pre-Health programme at Algonquin College. |
